While this was loading I thought the lion skin or whatever was a dead dog, and I didn't see the turtle, so I thought this was a gag about a lady killing her dog and skinning it.
To be fair, the turtle is very tiny. And the focus is definitely on the woman, this guy's paintings seem to mostly be in the genre of "woman in ancient Greek/Roman dress lounging about carelessly". Real conspicuous leisure hours.
how big is this? on a 20" computer screen the perspective on the marble seems really exaggerated

I noticed the marble now too, could be that it's supposed to be a curved wall or something, I dunno.
