    Saying "I don’t really like video games" is really broad, you might not like the mainstream ones but I can guarantee that there is something for you our there.

    I'm not trying to suggest that you need to enjoy anything, just that people might feel offended when you dismiss a whole medium of art as a whole.

      No one gets mad when I say I don't like sculpture. Possibly because there isnt a multi billion dollar industry working to sell to every home sculpture platforms, sculptures, sculpture add-ons, and sculpture tie-ins.

      Vidya games can be thought provoking art but that's not what offends people about non-participation.

    They get mad because they are self-aware enough to know they are wasting their lives on a vapid addiction. It's insulting to them that you are sober in a way they don't have the control to be. The only comfort they find is the thought that their addiction is commonplace and unavoidable
