Hello history-lovers.

I want to learn about the Vikings. But after searching for "vikings" in the Hexbear archives, many of you point out that such an interest is commonly shared with fascists. So, I hesitate to take any book suggestions from Reddit.

Can anyone with an interest in Vikings recommend a good, relevant history or perhaps archaeology book? Obviously, a leftist author would be awesome, but not necessary. Thank you so much!

I don't have any recs for you sorry. I have read somewhere that primary sources for viking history is very sparse. Or perhaps that was only true of primary sources for Norse mythology?

Looking forward to seeing recs in this thread.

I've read the The Vikings by Robert Ferguson and it was pretty good. You definitely get the sense we don't really know that much.
