Hello history-lovers.

I want to learn about the Vikings. But after searching for "vikings" in the Hexbear archives, many of you point out that such an interest is commonly shared with fascists. So, I hesitate to take any book suggestions from Reddit.

Can anyone with an interest in Vikings recommend a good, relevant history or perhaps archaeology book? Obviously, a leftist author would be awesome, but not necessary. Thank you so much!

The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle has a lot of Viking period material. Many Icelandic sagas treat the viking period but were compiled much later & injected with a Christian worldview--still cool & fun

as for secondary the best i can give you is askhistorians' recommend; A History of the Vikings by Gwyn Jones
