This week's image is from The VVitch!
Last weekend my girlfriend and I watched It Comes At Night. I really like it, but I remember audience scores trashing it because "nothing happened" lol. It's still great and really makes you think. I'm not sure what we're watching this week
I recently started torrenting movies, so I'll have some horror films to catch up on soon
please explain cause i struggled to understand the point besides the anxiety of dealing with strangers and some sort of disease.
I loved the VVitch
I think it was just an interesting look at the difficulties of trust and vulnerability. Paul catches Will in a lie once and that ruins all good will built up, the door was open by someone and they all got hostile right away (which ultimately led to everyone dying). Will doesn't even trust his 17 year old son to make any decisions for himself, so when it comes to serious mental health problems (nightmares, not sleeping) his son would rather share that with a complete stranger. They were all so bad at being vulnerable with each other in a situation that really called for it. I think even if Paul killed Will as soon as he tried to break in, Paul's family wasn't gonna make it. Nobody really seemed to communicate anymore and that's so necessary when the three of them were all each other had
Tbf I don't think it's super profound necessarily, I just think it's interesting to see it play out in the worst possible way
