I never understood why people considered that to be the most horrific comic Junji Ito has written. It was creepy but I forgot about it as soon as I finished whereas his other stuff made me turn towards my wall while sleeping because I didn’t want to accidentally look at my door and window

Im not sure people thought it was his creepiest. I just assumed it was very memeable

I like much of his stuff, but sadly the longer the stories go on the higher the likelihood of something goofy being slipped in; for example in Uzumaki where you have the guys with tornado powers, or in hellstar Remina where the world starts revolving at crazy speeds so people can now jump insane distances around the globe, with much of what's left of humanity doing it to catch Remina. I love those two stories, but these aspects were goofy as heck.

Oh it hits me the hardest (i think I've read them all). I find it terrifying personally because no one forces her, you know? Having struggled with it personally, it reminds me of what suicidal ideation is like.

I also hate body horror and (gulp) tight spaces... Brrrr! that story was made for me (to hate)
