I live in a poor rural area. We mostly got by fine during the first few waves. Ever since we came back from school break, we’ve had at least 20 new absences every day with most of the kids from day 1 still having not returned. Our district is not disclosing or tracking cases unless they were provably contracted on school premises. A colleague got an email today about a kid who tested positive on the 5th and has just been sitting there in class with Covid for a week. We’re a small district and we’re losing a classroom’s worth of kids every day (absences, not deaths, to be clear). We’re probably going to be unable to staff the school soon
