That's not entirely true. There's a lot of folk and other culture that's solidly left wing and associated with the working classes. It's just mostly more english/welsh/cornish/scottish than british specifically.
Even then if you want to enjoy 19th century sea shanties it's fine, there are people to be proud of if you look, like the Reaver (anti slavery) squadron.
They weren't particularly effective and they didn't get anywhere near enough support, but they were enthusiastic and the Kru People were also major participants, as were many released or escaped slaves. It just makes me feel good, thinking about Master and Commander, but they're hunting down slavers and not French Revolutionaries.
