    People keep pointing out that she and her mother or grandmother were victims of racist harassment in the US. That sound like a more likely reason.

      Yep. This is what I’d assume is the biggest reason. This article came out last year but the anti-Asian/Chinese racism was going up well before that of course. I also think it’s true she’s probably getting better treatment from the Chinese government and Chinese companies. Another thing that might be a factor is that she’s probably also much less likely to encounter extreme exploitation and/or creepy shit as a very young fashion model in China than she would in the US.
