The Political Program of the (New) Communist Party of Canada
China, a formerly colonized country, re-entered the capitalist path with virtually no foreign “holdings.” China is both an economic and a military powerhouse, but it is still in the process of shedding its former role as “factory of the world,” asserting its new role as a full-fledged imperialist power and moving to build up its influence in many areas, notably Southeast Asia and Africa.
Ugh.
Russia and China are neither the evil “totalitarian” great powers of the world as liberals and reactionaries would have us believe, nor are they some kind of “alternative” to Western imperialists. Rather, they are merely up-and-comers challenging the established masters of the world for supremacy and economic dominance.
Would this not make them an alternative to the Western imperialists?
[the new party] rejects empty phrase-mongering and amateurish activism in favour of constant, ongoing professionalization of its political work, creative tactics and wide-ranging social analysis.
As opposed to the old one, which stated in their program their love of empty phrase-mongering and amateurism. The whole program contains not a single mention of opportunism, which is the vital force preventing any mass workers movement in Canada/the imperialist nations (not even in their “Social Classes in Canada” section, where they quote Marx on class division but forget the new developments explained by Lenin).
Both sides in this inter-imperialist confrontation try to paint themselves as the good side: the new imperialists cynically pose as opponents of US hegemony while aiming to replace it with their own
No substantiation whatsoever.
In a very small number of cases, exemplified by such countries as Cuba and North Korea, a given state may attempt to pursue an anti-imperialist policy and strive for real independence[…] All of them are, however, beholden to one or more imperialist powers in some regards and none are socialist in the way we and our tradition has ever meant.
Our tradition! They should call this the new Conservative Party of Canada (no change in acronym needed).
It's a new party that carries over some elements from the RCP-PCR and RI/OCR that both fell apart a few years ago
I cant say anything about the party but I like their logo/emblem. Hope the party is a good one.
They are atrocious on indigenous questions and nationalism. Absolute disgrace for Kites to host them.
Cool, I was worried that we were gonna be stuck with the dorks at the CWF-OC as the maoist org
