Hard disagree. I don’t even think it’s close. Sure an individual post or poster might be rude or hostile but on aggregate it’s so much nicer.

These so many supportive posts, helpful posts, educational posts and funny posts. Reddit is 99% stale memes and pedantic smugness. Hexbear is like 80% that at its worst but thats still an order of magnitude improvement.

In the past I’ve gotten into arguments on here, gotten real fired up, and suddenly I’m seeing the whole site as just a bunch of assholes - but I take a break and a step back and after a bit I return and I can see all the cool posts and nice people again. They never left, I just got tunnel vision on the shittyness.

Unless they mean just in general, because I am incredibly hostile to people comin round these parts and droping fash lib takes, like probably too hostile

If that’s the kind of hostility they’re talking about. That’s good. More places should be hostile to libs smugly regurgitating fash talking points.

Its always the libs bitching about dripping a bullshit opinion and then getting dunked on. 'They called me a lib, horseshoe theory confirmed.'

Is it just the interactions you've been having? :P I haven't seen anywhere near that hostility personally but I usually avoid convos where people seem too hostile. I've found a lot more support here than most other online spaces I've seen.
