Just stick a hammer and scicle on the old flag seems to be the motif. Not an actual redesign as it ought to be.

I'd be happier if the states were based on land acknowledgements of the indiginous peoples in the state name and the vexillology.

Came here to say the say thing, a socialist redesign of the US flag would require more then just sticking a hammer and sickle on it. A socialist America should have it's own symbols that relate to it's own history instead of inorganically copying USSR aesthetics.

A lot of those flags still preserve their Confederacy characteristics. Also, each of the 13 stripes represents the first bits of stolen land. Each star is more stolen land.

Also, the US flag is just so damn busy, has so much chaos on it. Makes it the ugliest flag on Earth as of this posting.

Well yeah, pretty much every crossing stripes style flag in the US is premised off the Confederate garbage.

        US needs to completely dissolve.

As others said, the Confederacy characteristics gotta go. The general lack of indigenous motifs, and the maintaining of the present settler-colonial states also makes one wonder to what extent this union has addressed the ugly underlying truths of the country as well, though I suppose it's always possible that reparations, land back and sufficient semi-autonomy, and indigenism/black power initiatives/etc could have gone on with the flags and states mostly remaining as-is.
