So, Rev Left radio was able to post an Mearsheimer talk (the one that's been going around). I'm kinda surprised that Brett got permission to post it under the Rev Left Radio brand. I'm also kind of disappointed that he didn't offer any commentary, and otherwise (seemingly) uncritically re-hosted am anticommunist like Mearsheimer.

Yeah haven't really been listening to RLR since it started to go downhill, but I thought this sounded interesting. Like everyone else I was pretty surprised he just put this guy out there seemingly because his view is contrary to the zeitgeist? Like Breht maybe that's not enough.

Where would you say the podcast went downhill? I've only started listening to episodes recently.

I think Breht has spread himself pretty thin between three different podcasts around when he had completed doing retrospectives on all the main socialist movements and events.

Critical support for Breht but I just don't think his current work is as vital as it used to be, more episodes are much more niche, more YouTuber guests, etc.

Edit: misread your comment thought you said "why", not "when". I'd say in the last 18 months or so?
