Google has pulled multiple 'fediverse' Android apps from the Play Store for allegedly enabling access to hate speech, but critics say it's overreaching.
The apps are just web-sites built in Electron (which is just a one-tabbed Chrome window) on Desktop. I wouldn't be surprised if the "apps" are similar.
The only reason I use the Twitter app is because I don't want to wade through a bunch of tabs on Chrome with how shitty it is with no (non-rooted) adblocking. (And yes, I realize the native app has ads in it)
