Spirit's definitely the most used of the five (though it's the most useful for fighting other channelers cuz of shields and such), and I think the implication is that lightning is probably the best bang-for-your-buck attack since you're functionally just giving nature a push to kill something for you instead of having to generate a fireball wholesale of your own power.
