YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR FUCKIN YEARS LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Why you can see a star any time just look outside at night. Or any day when it isn't cloudy I suppose
Listen, this is one of the few cool things that's left ok
Does anyone know if there is technical data released on this image?
Because the hexagonal artifacts from the mirrors (the main 6 lines coming off of the star) seem really bad. Though it is obviously overexposed, so it might just be intentionally highly over exposed to quantify non-idealities like these artifacts and pointing stability, and under normal exposure/range they wouldn't be visible.
According to the article the team said this test image came out better than expected, which I'll take as a good sign
