Yeah, that's something that's pervasive throught all the interviews and post-war memoirs of all these pricks. The generals have their whole "well, we were military geniuses, but Hitler ruined everything with how mad he was!" bit.
Here, those 10 Panthers that broke down "through inexperienced handling by the green drivers" might be exactly what you're talking about - the Panthers were notoriously plagued with problems, so it could well have been just the tanks shitting the bed, not an issue with the drivers. I just thought it was funny how he's talking about them sending in green divisions into the fray, because of how common of a trope that is in western portrayals of the Soviets (and really any "bad guy" military).
