Is it me or do they pack these things so they smash the fuck up every time now. I've not had a full poptart in years. I stopped buying them for 4-5 years as I was pissed off with having to hook bits of poptart back out of me toaster.

This week I've had a rough week. Hard week at work, family stress... I just fancied a poptart for fuck sake. First 2 in, and half a poptart out. Is someone in the factory just picking up the box after packaging them and smashing the whole thing on the deck?

Goes off to have porridge instead...

My folks only did sensible breakfast foods, so I had my first pop tarts in my first apartment. I also had my first weed stash there, so they became a part of my diet for a few months, but then . . . no. And I wonder, have they made them shittier in the meantime to squeeze out more profit per box?

No I've just got the standard toaster. I've bought these from about 6 different shops (tesco, sainsburys, lidl etc) they always seem to be smashed. There's a gap of about 4 poptarts worth in the box when you open it. Like its designed to look bigger.

how are you getting them home? perhaps next time you go to the store come prepared with some bubble wrap and a box to carry them in to see if that fixes it

yeah but if they are getting stuffed in a bag with other groceries that might be what is crushing them

Box isnt deformed or folded though. Thats what makes me think this is a factory or packaging thing

            Dalek' walk home ;)

For real though even if you go to many different stores in the same area it's quite possible you have the same company delivering to those locations. That company might not be loading their trucks well. It's all guesses but i can tell you i unbox more than your average person's share of poptarts as part of my current job and they've been in great shape.

Alternative suggestion, do you have a toaster oven or air fryer?

or a regular oven, or an old lightbulb, or some foil and anything producing waste heat, or just eat the things room temperature.

Most likely it's management making workers cut corners to get things shipped out and stocked onto shelves faster. In my experience they resort to tossing shit around and treating product like garbage to shave off a minute or two to meet some kind of timing quota. You will probably have better luck at Costco since most things are brought out to the sales floor as a pallet which I'm guessing means there's less handling between the factory to the point of sale.
