Just got home after the appointment, and I swear, this is the most happy I can remember being. Got prescribed 1mg estradiol tablets (taken twice daily) and 1mg of finasteride. According to the doc, she wants to start me off slowly so that I can "acclimate to increased tenderness" and when we do the second wave (batch? pass?) on bloodwork we'll talk about changes in prescription. It was really rough talking about my dysphoria, and I almost felt like she wanted more detail, but that was compensated for by hearing people say my preferred name IRL. The only other complaints I can really give to the entire process are entirely because of transportation issues, because the train ride was long and incredibly anxiety inducing. Sorry if this entire post is rambley and annoying but I really wanted to follow up because all of the replies I got yesterday really buoyed my confidence.
