🥊 Edgar Berlanga vs Pádraig McCrory at super-middleweight

Florida time zone

This is the most interesting fight of the week. Bookies odds imply about a 78% chance of Berlanga winning. Berlanga is a monster, known for winning his first 16 fights in the 1st round, though having said that his 5 fights since then have all gone the distance, making him 21-0 now. McCrory is also undefeated after 18, and I think he could pull off the upset. The winner could face Canelo Alvarez. Berlanga wikipedia. Berlanga is not a monster. They always start building a potential young star with easy fights against part time boxers (guys who have a 9-5 jobs) or jouneymen. Berlanga had an impressive 1st round KO streak against very weak competition. His first match up against a decent opponent and he struggled. When his contract was up, Top Rank let him go. Berlanga is Puerto Rican, and Puerto Ricans are starving for a boxing star after Trinidad and Cotto. If Berlanga was any decent Top Rank would've kept building him up and match him up with a big Mexican star for a big PPV event. Anyways, he's now signed with Matchroom, and they will probably match him up carefully to build him up and look for that big PPV against a big time Mexican (Munguia or Canelo).

Can McCrory do it? I think he can.
