I hope so. I will say that if you leave him enough food and a ton of water (make sure to account for evaporation over time), a cat can absolutely survive a couple weeks on their own, even though they'll be anxious and lonely. it's definitely not ideal, but if you give him enough food and water, he'll absolutely be there waiting for you when you get back and you can sort his weight and stuff out then.
