This is also the reason why they're hoping Shanghai is a disaster for China, so they can point to zero-covid policy not being good for the people, instead of the real reason which is keeping consumption going

Also the vaccine point is so stupid. The CDC has already managed to get a bunch of people to tune out with their dumbass flip flopping in regards to whether or not getting vaccinated prevented you from getting COVID and subsequently spreading it. It's understandable the science is updating all the time, so why the hell are you making grand proclamations about an illness we still don't know much about?

the only reason shanghai is such a disaster (well other than whatever logistical fuckups they've had over there) is because we've let covid stew for a couple of years and now we have variants that are so contagious a total lockdown is nearly ineffective... if we had have done it right for the original strain we'd be fine now.

Right? Shanghai such a disaster, but let’s ignore Shenzhen, whom have the pressure of Hong Kong able to lock down for just one week!!! Even tier 3 cities of China did better than Shanghai, at this point, the failure should put on the leadership of Shanghai and pointed the effectiveness of zero dynamic using other city than Shanghai

after all, the best way to move passed a major public safety problem is to overrule any public safety rules that are inconvenient.

as the saying goes, if you ignore a deadly public health crisis, it pretty much goes away on its own. hey look, it's 2-for-1 tacos!

This reminds me of how after the initial waves of the bubonic plague under Justinian, he released a proclamation declaring the pandemic to be over. It kept coming back every 10 years for centuries, killing like 1/3 of the population each time.

    What is a “business community”?

Even worse, he's complaining about Biden letting Title 42 expire, a Trump era reduction on refugees accepted which all the Blue Dogs are whining about becuase there's an election coming up.

That's what really fucking got me. Straight up borrowing from neofascist "Covid is completely fake, but it's real enough to arrest refugees"
