The Vegas loop is a pathetic 1.7 miles long and already has traffic. Here's a dramatic representation of how I imagine it will be once they get another 2 or 3 miles built.

P.S. Apologies for the monorail propaganda. I know trains and subways are better but it's still kind of neat and at least you won't die of a battery fire in a poorly ventilated tunnel.

If one of those teslas breaks down there’s no shoulder or other lanes. Every car will have to back out one at a time… or you’ll have to climb out a window and shimmy past every car to escape. Fire trucks don’t fit so they have to have tiny special made vehicles to send through if there’s a fire. Guess ambulances don’t fit either.

They defend the traffic jam by saying it only happened a couple of time during a major convention. But again it’s 1.7 miles and really needs to be 14 miles long to accommodate just the whole tourist block of Vegas (nevermind the residents, fuck them I guess). Presumably as it scales and becomes more theoretically useful the number of cars and passengers increases. Again presumably every station slows down the entire row of cars whether or not they are stopping at said station because it’s a single linear lane in either direction.

It’s very bad, stupid and wasteful.

    Edit: tldr: Yeah. Agreed.
