Occasionally Henry talks shit about capitalism, but he's not exactly gonna be out there executing landlords.
Marcus is just a Khmer Rouge guy cuz he wants more spoopy bones.
Also, if you listen to their JFK eps, they have an extremely shallow and uneducated view of the USSR. They basically conflated the stagnant 80s USSR with the optimistic and vibrant 50s and 60s USSR, betraying how they didn't do their research.
You gotta admit it is funny to think a secret service guy accidentally exploded JFKs head tho.
That JFK series killed me. I honestly couldn't finish it because of how much CIA good/Commies bad propaganda they were spitting the whole time.
It was honestly a VERY weak series overall. I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's because one of them was moving plus they were finalizing the Spotify deal, but it really felt thrown together and shallow across the board. Like, yeah, JFK is a biggie, maybe even THE biggie, so it's gonna be a challenge, but they definitely didn't meet that challenge.
Last podcast on the left, right? Love them as entertainment but Ben seems like a big jolly turbolib. Marcus seems cooler. Henry is a weirdly loveable freak whose politics I've never considered.
He has a politics podcast. He can be a lib but his co host always drags him farther left with each episode. Marcus is definitely cool although I dont know his exact stance on stuff, and Kissel has said on his politics cast that Zebrowski is a bit clueless and tends to follow what his friends think instead of doing the research himself. LPOTL is still a great fucking time tho no matter what
Kissel.... man I love the guy and occasionally he has some good political takes (he dunked pretty hard on Reagan just a couple eps ago), but then he just libs the fuck out. Marcus is usually a bit better and Henry.... well he's just precious.
