Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari has told the World Zionist Organization (WZO) Emergency Conference that Israel is “fighting against Hamas, not against the people of Gaza” despite Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave killing almost 30,000 people.

“Our aim in this war, our main mission, is to rescue our hostages but also make sure that the citizens of Gaza are free from Hamas,” he added.

“We are dismantling the military framework of Hamas from the north to the south. We already dismantled 18 battalions out of 24 and we are finishing the others, the last four are in Rafah,” Hagari claimed.

He also said that the Israeli army “cannot conduct an operation with 1.4 million people in Rafah”. There will be a “movement of people to a safer zone”.

Technically correct. The fight is not against the people of Gaza specifically, it's against all the palestinians

This only further convinces me that colonial settler nations are inherently genocidal and can’t EVER be reformed. America will never stop giving money to border militarization, the prison industrials complex, and Israel. Integration alone is just a temporary, baby sized band-aid that more extreme fascists can rip away at any time, which is why the Supreme Court is undoing all the work of the Warren Court.

Correct, those in power must be removed, their power structures must be destroyed, and a new better society must be rebuilt from the ground up.

That's the population of my hometown. Since seeing that statistic earlier this morning, I'm imagining walking through town and seeing everyone dead, every house burned.

Remember that doesn't include the dead (and dying) particularly in the rubble. Plus the horrorshow of a war zone with no healthcare system. I think a better number to keep track of is the sum of the injured + missing + the "official" death toll.

[CW: A gruesome and disturbing fact if you want to force a liberal to consider what's happening.]

It's always been easy for people to turn off their brain and ignore stuff like death tolls and injured+missing+dead. But what sane, rational, decent person can over look this?...

UNICEF estimated that at least 1,000 children have had one or two of their legs amputated through the end of November, with an unknown number undergoing those surgeries without sedation or pain medication. “We've heard of more cases in the north of the Strip,” said Chaiban.
