yeah, the thing to keep in mind is the USA is not actually helping Ukrainians. The USA/British sheltered the nazi Banderites in the early 50s, worked closely with anti-soviet Ukrainians for decades, pushed to privatize Ukraine's economy in the 90s, brought the Ukrainian far right to power in the 2014 coup on Maidan, sabotaged Minsk II agreements, and is now sending billions in weapons to people ethnically cleansing DPR/LPR in East Ukraine. The USA is not helping West Ukrainians either. The USA isn't helping West Ukraine, it's helping West Ukraine's worst political groups ethnically cleanse East Ukraine. Interviews with Mariupol residents show they understand this. Even Zelensky knows in his heart that this is true, and tepidly admitted as such in an interview with The Economist. Some Americans have even pointed out that Zelensky has not been able to achieve the peace that he ran his campaign on precisely because the US-backed Ukrainian right has sabotaged him at every turn.. As usual, all of this US fuckery with the baltics, the balkans, and Russia, has been a "bipartisan" issue for decades. It is a continuation of cold war policy. That's why Crenshaw and AOC agree on "lethal aid." It's worth listening to the Nuland-Pyatt leaks, as well.

The Ukrainians are warm bodies, some of whom are willing to be used as Russian artillery fodder, and in return they get weapons and encouragement to keep warring. Unfortunately that's about as far as their value as people goes in the West.
