Good Twitter thread on a study (data from the World Bank published in research for the American Journal of Public Health) that showed socialist countries beat capitalist countries when it comes to metrics that actually matter to people (like physical health).

    Don't they generally rely more on finding ways to deceptively present real data than on falsifying the data in the first place? Like trying to take credit for China's reduction in poverty by including Chinese figures in global poverty stats to hide that everywhere that's implemented the World Bank's chosen policies has seen poverty increase? Outright fraud would invite scandal, while gross misrepresentation of data is easier to get away with.
