I thought the appeal of Top Gear was the fact that none of the hosts are particularly good people, but that they seemed to have fun in a way that rubs off on the viewer, as long as the viewer is a cis-het-white-male who doesn't think too much about anything presented in the show.
Also I highly recommend the episode where they go to china, which was made in 2018 i think, after the move to Amazon Prime. You get to see China's progress in real time, and hear Clarkson lament the doom of Britain in particular, since his local street has potholes that are older than half of China's highway system.
The car being both paddle and stick shift at the same time, the track changing from a street track, to a road course, to an oval in one scene, the unrealistic stunts, it's all just :chefs-kiss:
Top gear but without :ukkk: hosts and actually taking the cars seriously.
Also could do a deep dive into the esports scene
the :ukkk: hosts are what make the show good though (except clarkson, he's not even funny and is just a massive removed)
edit: oh yeah fair enough, yeah that word does kind of have misogynistic connotations, I probably shouldn't use it in future

Personally I find Hammond the most insufferable, he's a literal castle owning Tory lol.
Oh I didn't know Hammond owned a castle, I quite liked him until now :sadness:

:some-controversy:
edit: it took me so long to find the china sicko emoji
I was imagining something like Driven which is actually unironically a great movie.
Ford vs Ferrari was also a cool movie.
This is so absolutely ridiculous it crosses over to being good lol
It really is lol. Not in like an artistic sense but it is exceptionally good slop if you like motorsports.

It also has both Sly Stallone and Burt Reynolds. That is a dangerous amount of hot dad energy.
This film has been ruined for me by Bad Movie Beatdown, just hearing that extremely British voice dunk on the physics of this scene.
The gran turismo world championships are actually really well done and very very entertaining, and free on youtube, Def worth watching
