    I’m seeing a price of $520 on AliExpress? That seems ridiculously cheap for something that does what it purports to do.

      Yep, the software to effectively use it can get a bit more expensive but the thing itself is about the cheapest on the market. The more expensive you get the more you can scan more accurately. The one shown here would only be good for probably what's shown in the video at max - and nothing that requires great tolerances like engine parts or small assemblies. At 20k you can scan things that are over 10m away at like 0.2mm precision, much much better at closer distance.
