it's a good game and it's fun
i made a rune master named GlyphBlehsinski and I put pretty lightning glyphs on the ground they make pretty purple and blue lightning colors
tbf most skills aren't like that, it's one very specific skill in one very specific class made very specifically for perverts like me
dude ya it's sooooooooo fun just slinging invocations around and feeling the crunchy weaves of arcane destroying the screen lmao
There's a spell called Rune Bolt that gives you Runes types in a fixed order as you cast it. So baseline it gives Fire, Lightning, Cold always in that order but you can take passives to:
A) Reverse the original combo order
B) Random order, random number of runes, and random element PER cast
C) Repeat the order of runes cast by your last Runic Invocation
or
D) Random element with a chance to double cast that element if your last cast was different. On top of that, the chance to double cast is based on a damn crafting material in your bags (i love this passive for some reason lmao)
I'm not really fucking with Rune Bolt in my realized build but damn it was really fun vomiting invocations while leveling
I'm looking at the little Runic Energizer node in the bottom left that makes you charge up faster if you cast the whole fucking dictionary
Playing as a necromancer with 18 skeletons a golem and two wraiths was fun. Most everything just gets blended as I walk around.
Legit one of the few games where I think they got minions/pets/companions right. I went into it blind and my first character ended up being some sort of Forge Guard minion class for no reason and I really wasn't expecting that from the "paladin/warrior" archetype. It's functional and thoughtful which counts for a lot, to me personally.
I went into it knowing it's an indie game made with gameplay first so I didn't expect anything from the story. It's pretty basic but with the time loops coming into play I can see what they were going with and I didn't have to pay attention much thankfully.
I feel you about a class feeling "ok" but then again I have alt-itis in these games and I'll just switch or try something brand new if I get bored. The game's biggest strength is how frictionless getting your builds setup can be so re rolling doesn't feel nearly as bad. Slapping some no lvl requirement speedy go fast boots with a bajillion affixes is my jam.
