The Kcnq2 gene encodes for the Kv7.2 protein, a slow-acting, voltage-gated potassium channel that plays a critical role in the regulation of neuronal excitability
glutamatergic drugs VS old anti-depressants which focus on short term neurotransmitters
The researchers then tested ketamine’s effects in combination with an epilepsy drug, retigabine, known to activate potassium channels in the brain. When the drugs were given together, ketamine’s antidepressant effects were significantly enhanced.

By revealing a new mechanism of ketamine’s action, the study may make it possible to expand the use ketamine-based drugs. This, in turn, might help these drugs fully deliver on their promise of providing new hope for depression.

I tried ketamine once and spent four hours in bed with my eyes closed listening to music and seeing visuals and introspecting. I would definitely have fallen asleep in 5min under normal circumstances. I was just barely able to change the music, so I would suggest a four hour+ playlist if you want to go that route.
LSD fucks up my ego to the point I'm paranoid that I'm a trapped animal in a cage experiment and my brain loops and it sucks ass. Ketamine was nothing like this for me. (If anyone knows wtf my problem with LSD is, lemme know lol)
Looping thoughts is normal on acid, it can be pretty disorienting and stressful though
I have had the looping crazy brain thing on acid happen to me and my friends a few times in college. Genuinely feels like you are going insane and can't stop it. Still love acid though
