They usually honor unsubscribe requests per-campaign but if you click "show original" in gmail you may see other brokers who are facilitating emailing you, like action network and NGP VAN. You can create an account in action network with your email and unsubscribe to everything they've got on their website. You can email support@ngpvan.com and ask them to block your email address in their tool.

I have a filter that takes anything that has the word "unsubscribe" in it and labels it "crap" and skips the inbox. Anything that has an unsubscribe link, you surely don't need to read it.

I auto-delete emails that "have the words" ( trump OR congress OR senate OR pac ) AND unsubscribe

I have like 7000+ unread just going back a year. I think it’s time to embrace anti-gmail thought.

Because something’s not right, I unsubscribed from this shit a long ass time ago

You could probably get 5000 or so with a good enough search query and mark them all as spam.

Mark every bit of it as spam and don't unsubscribe, it's how you train Gmail to begin identifying all mail from that sender to all users as spam. It's what I do.

Found out that my phone has been dutifully filtering out absolute shitloads of democratic and occasional republican campaign texts because I gave money to a few people in 2016 and 2020. People sell each other donor lists, so my phone number has been playing fucking 6 Degrees of Bernie Sanders for the last few years

Should be a way to set up a filter to auto-delete emails from certain senders or containing certain words.

Shumer tried to shake you down for cash. Pelosi tried to shake you down. Bill Clinton tried to invade your space. Now Joe Biden himself is grabbing your shoulders and sniffing your hair. Do you not give a damn you horrible rotten piece of shit? Do you want Trump to win again?! Think of democracy! Now act like a good Democrat do your role, and be our ATM pay pig to dillute our corporate donation average you looser before we get more upset and abusive towards you!

        • Typical Democrat money beg.

Just keep reporting them as SPAM. I jave a different email provider but after a number of years (2016, 2012) they've begun to slow down.

Now my phone is non stop texts and I got so fustrated with their condensending shitfuckery intrustion into my life I started quipping back. They have ro have a live person text and they wrote a spam exemption into the laws so they can legally harass us. I tried to play nice but if you're trying to condensend people in your sales pitches while actively supporting a genocider - get fucked and be prepared to get really condensended upon, honey. Let me go an pragmatically bully the fuck out of you. After a few weeks of that it's started to slow. My block list is also YUGE.

Gmail is still probably the best email client out there, don't sweat it.

Gmail has a "filter messages like this" function and I use it every time I see any email I don't like.

It may be too late for you but I HIGHLY recommend other people use address postfixes in the future. If your email is foo@gmail.com, you can enter foo+bar@gmail.com in forms and it'll go to your inbox like normal. But if they sell your email, you can easily add a spam filter for to:foo+bar@gmail.com. This works with Gmail and some other providers but it isn't part of the email standard.
