    It's surprising the amount of people still use it, usually older people, but I've had coworkers annoyed that I didn't know about a get together they arranged on Facebook

          Also if you look at somebody’s page they can see you looked at, which just makes it kind of nerve wracking. I hate linked in with a passion. I recently kind of had to make one as I attempt to transfer to a new career path. It sucks

        I was told in a class a couple years ago that not having a Facebook and LinkedIn account can get you passed up by hiring managers, which is the only reason I have both. The words of the teacher were something like "if HR looks you up and sees nothing, that's good - but if they look you up and see nothing, they'll assume you're hiding something".

          LinkedIn is the creepiest coercive sycophantic bootlicking nightmare world yet devised in social media. I get actual anxiety attacks whenever some "let's lick the boots faster!" uplifting quote gets bandied about there where I can see it.
