    I have that already with the pihole but unfortunately Google is smart enough to work around it. The video content is served from the same domain as the ads which makes the DNS blocker ineffective for YouTube. And in general it seems like there are technology changes on the horizon for DNS that might make DNS filtering impossible.

      idk what to tell you, works for me perfectly. adguard dns sucks though i wouldnt recommend it, a lot of addresses are gated behind a paywall. i dont have any ads on any app on my phone, zero rooting or piracy

        Interesting, I'll look into adguard, maybe they've figured something out or have an additional filter list I need to add

          i'll load mine up and find the list i liked though i cant remember which one explicitly stopped it from happening it took a lot of tinkering

          so i think it was the Energized Ultimate list and the Fanboy's Enhanced list
