Same with grocery stores in California if it's under $2000. Just make sure you have enough money to purchase like a banana or something. Just protects you from getting charged with commercial burglary due to the intent factor (I think). I got caught stealing ice cream when I was high and drunk one night. The loss prevention people took down my information, the store manager made me promise to never come back to the store, and the store sent my info to a collection agency who tried to scare me into paying $500. You don't have to pay shit.

Damn thats worse than I got for literally walking out of the store with 3 full bags of items once a week for 5 months. I would have been F U C K E D if they had better security and kept track of me. They just took a copy of my drivers license and said I was banned.

Still miss that grocery store, it was bougie as fuck but had the CHEAPEST BAR in the city. I would just fill my bags, plop down for a few pints, and once the liquid courge was built up enough I would just pay my bar tab, grab my bags, and stumble home.

Seems tricky when the store employees are breathing down your neck to watch you move all the items from the basket to the pressure plate though
