Reposted from a comment I just made:
It's bad comrades, I estimated about a week ago that it would be getting quite bad by the 4th of july and so far it's not looking good.
Testing and info is so sparse it's hard to even say, it could be 2-3x the 351 total reported cases in the US (as of today) it could be 10x, hell, it could be higher than that.
Read an NPR article the other day about how abysmal testing was, which featured the story of a not gay and with no obvious exposure man who had to try like 7 times over the course of a WEEK OR TWO to get tested. They kept goin "nah its not that, I'll test for this" and then after all that, yeah, he had the pox.
We're fucked don't worry the biden administration is releasing 56,000 smallpox vaccine doses :so-true:
it could be higher than that
It is. The positive rate was about 20%.
remember how its a really bad sign if it's above 5%?
No?
Because they stopped mentioning that 2 years ago and hoped no one would realize or understand how bad it is?
I'm sure it's fine.
yeah I'd really not like to catch anything related to small pox, please.
