    I’m just beginning to tuck into “The Lysenko Controversy as a Global Phenomenon, Volume 1” tonight. Lysenkoism is fascinating to look at. One thing seems certain: with Lysenko in charge of genetics at the academy there was no possibility of eugenicists gaining any kind of political power in the Soviet Union.

      Yeah, it kind of adds context that at the same time the USSR was endorsing Lysenko, western geneticists were pulling out the calipers and setting up the Holocaust. Funny how that's never discussed.
