I was kind of disappointed on how railroaded it was. DM Patches just ferried the boys from scene to scene, while Virgil gave the boys a chance to muck about.
I guess that the first style works better for the audio drama they were going for. Matt was a lot less frustrated.
I think giving mat a combat optimized barbarian and being the only one with animal talk allowed him to easily overcome the constantly dying in combat frustration. His old man build was almost completely investigation focused iirc.
And yeah, I think they went in with a outline and wanted to guarantee hitting the main points. I’m treating it as scripted with the “gameplay” being improv.
Highly enjoyable nonetheless, but especially the parts that seem truly organic (the dog getting its name)
I'm so glad they did another table top series. I really liked the Call of Cthulu setting of previous campaigns, but I'll also appreciate Felix rolling charisma to seduce a murderous Huma Abeddin spider monster.
no spoilers past episode two please I just fucking died when felix realized he could seduce her by being a sex pest of certain origin. The DM slowly realizing how bad he fucked up by allowing was all too relatable.
Yeah I enjoyed it quite a bit. Took me a while to find the time to listen through it all (it's 4 whole episodes), but I'm glad I did.
