God fucking damn it the psychic damage is bad. It's just an even split down the middle between PragerU talking points and "Actually Denmark is the most socialist nation and Denmark is basically perfect".

Just the worst fucking Discourse and I need to tell myself it's just children and nothing they say about it will matter even to them in like a month. I know that a portion aren't children, but I just ignore that part so I don't go insane.

The way that thinktanks have completely destroyed education is terrible and I think not talked about enough compared to "haha American education" which, yeah, is true, but not very useful.

    Sorry to be doomer but it's not just children, it's basically the entire Anglo-sphere. Nobody actually reads anything anymore, so nobody knows how these things were actually defined or made up of, or the actual histories of the matter. They just remember the bullshit that was taught to them in 7th grade and think that that. Is the truth even when it is demonstratively lying.

    And the teachers don't know any better because normally they were the ones would memorized the books the best in school, so they don't like to question it either.

      I've been having some success lately by relating education on gender and trans people to political education to get well-meaning american libs to realise that their political education is extremely bad. The ones that have become reasonably educated on trans issues have a moment where it clicks for them that they are similarly completely uneducated about socialism and I'm hopeful that it results in them going in search of education from the socialists in the same way they went and listened to trans people to learn about gender and trans issues.

      It is possible to make them self-aware that they know nothing and when they realise it's like their previous knowledge of trans people not so long ago they go very sheepish about speaking confidently about anything socialist.

        I guess that works for libs, but libs are like cats. They are friendly with whoever feeds them praise. Sure they may be standoffish at first and then pretend they rule the roost, but at the end of the day they come when you feed them. We are fortunate that most Americans are libs, but I think at some point a strategy has to be developed to combat the sheer mind rot-dog obedience training conservatives undergo. Idk if there is a way to do that that doesn't fundamentally betray communist principles, outside of straight violent confrontation, which we are likely a decade or more away from.

        This. It is not a lack of reading, it is not even so much a lack of education. It is that the hegemonic influence of liberal capitalism has gone unopposed in popular knowledge.
