Barring another covid-19 level event that works in Biden’s favor, I

he's too homophobic and stupid and fiscal conservative to do anything about mokeypox

Yeah but covid-19 only worked for Biden because he wasn't in power and could pretend he would actually do something about it. Any new crisis will only highlight the paralysis of the Democratic party because they're too stupid and corrupt to address the issues.

Biden and the Dems have massively fucked up for the last 2 years. They've wasted a majority in congress and will potentially lose both houses after the midterms.

Biden gave people less money than Trump. Joe also gave less than he even promised to while he was running. He hasn't forgiven basically any student debt. He kicked off an inflation crisis by fucking around and finding out with Russia and now China.

Most Americans don't give a fuck about the rights of marginalized people, the polite conservative dems in the suburbs will vote for a fascist if they think it will protect their property values. If it's not Trump, it will be someone worse like DeSantis or Abbott.

Its a very real possiblity that he would win if he runs.

I do think it seems like capital generally doesnt want him. They seem to want Desantis or Biden again, or possibly any non-Bernie Biden replacement. I do think capital will try to put up some opposition, but I'm not sure how much, or if they would be able to stop him.

Much like 2016, I'm not sure if the ruling class truely grasps just how far they've activated their fascist base. They thought Trump wouldn't get nominated. They thought he'd be easy to beat. They thought he could be controlled. They were always wrong.

They've really effectively cut him out of a lot of mainstream discourse by kicking him off Twitter, which was a pretty coordinated bodying by the bourgeois class to him. He mostly is brought up as a boogeyman for Dems to run against and scare their base with. But, the whole GOP base still completely loves him. He hasn't gone anywhere as far as they are concerned.

Desantis could run against him for the nomination, he's the only one with the clout to do so, but would he? He wants to be president some day, so why fight with Trump over the same base? Seems like political suicide. Unless the ruling class bar Trump from running, or rig the primary, or some other machination. Its a question of how far they are willing to go against him, because theres no way he doesn't will a legitimate primary.

And against Biden, he could win. He might not, but its definitely possible given how incredibly unpopular Biden is

I could see DeSantis running as Trump's VP, or just hanging out in Florida until Trump either finishes his term or has a coke-fueled heart attack. Then he just positions himself to take over Trump's base.

I completely agree. I don't think he or anyone could beat Trump in a fair primary. It'll be interesting to see if they try to oppose him at all though

All the factors that got Trump elected in 2016 are still in play for 2024 , and now there's 6 fuckers on the supreme court who will rubber stamp any trick a state wants to play.

Hillary was the only candidate who could lose to Trump in 2016

Or was Trump the only Republican candidate who could possibly have lost to Hillary, and he won anyway?
