    I guess i should have clarified that i mostly meant domestically.

    Internationally, the empire is still doing the same things geopolitically and geostrategicly that it has been doing since ww2. I agree with your global analysis. Deciding to stop fighting a losing war in Afghanistan was a good thing that he did, but i don’t he would have done it if the Taliban hadn’t basically won and taken over the country, leaving Biden few options. Empire declines can take centuries, i wouldn’t count on that economic depression anytime very soon. I mean who knows, but it seems far from guaranteed. Other empires have shrank or withered without economic collapse: dutch, Belgian, portugese, Japan, UK, etc

        so what happens when re-shored industries (like chip makers) means way higher prices for US consumers/businesses? how does that factor in? the consumers can go on strike as workers, companies can get rid of lots of BS white collar jobs, the government can further subsidize production or capital investment, but in a few decades that creates an upward spiral in wages and prices or the government runs out of money it can borrow with bonds... but that is a long ways away.
