Just minutes after the first bounce in a round one AFL game, families watching on free-to-air television were exposed to more than 70 gambling ads – and all before 8pm.

As much as I love poker, gambling shouldn’t be a legal business. It should only be something buddies do around a kitchen table. Casinos just exploit people with addictive personality.
Its disgusting how they've legalized this completely parasitic industry. Lots of casinos in my area opened very early into covid and their parking lots were always packed.
Gambling regulations aren't my wheelhouse, but this honestly doesn't surprise me. Gambling ads are fucking off the hook here, even in internet land. My ad blocker is pretty tight, but last time I saw someone else's browser half the freaking page was dedicated to TAB ads.
I study computer science and it’s incredible how many blank faces I get when I ask them why they don’t have an adblocker installed.
Careful sharing stuff like this, your house will get firebombed.
They're insane in the UK as well. If you watch 4 on demand you are just pelted with them. Worse is to have some rich actor like Ray Winston marching up and down trying to equate gambling with being some sort of suave Guy Richie character.
It's a hideous industry.
