I mean, whenever targets that are fairly universally liked, like puppies or sick children etc, are targeted i get suspicious.

Also the reason why every picture from ukraine had people with pets and tons of stories about pets in Ukraine in western media like the BBC.

Oh it's very real, not an op. I'm 100% sure. For weeks now Evangelical social media has really targeted that hospital. They've really been whipped into a frenzy over drag queen story hour -> Libs of TikTok and this notion that "elites" like school teachers are trying to turn kids trans -> the current "groomer" trend. Then recently they got this notion that Boston Children's has been performing all these gender surgeries on kindergartners or whatever. The vitriol in I've seen directed towards that hospital in recent weeks has been appalling. That they are now getting actionable threats made against them is the least surprising thing ever.

I'm also fairly certain it was a real threat phoned in by someone who's not an actual law enforcement stooge (or whatever you want to call it), I keep tabs on the equally online right as well.

It's hard to say whether the most recent anti-gay/anti-trans push that's been occurring in those spaces is totally organic or not though.

i mean it's part of the Super Happy Fun Times (is that the name? group that organized the Straight Pride Parade) hate network, which is pretty big. we talk about how it relates to communist organizing, but i'm sure such a notable fascist group also has a ton of infiltrators

Political movements are usually a bit more savvy about their public image than to target something like a children’s hospital but i guess the religious nuts have really become even more unhinged.

You’re right it’s probably not an op but it is an insane political strategy. Guaranteed to alienate your movement from most people that you might want to garner support from. Lol morons.

I wouldn't know about children's hospitals or children, particularly ill ones, being universally liked, there are places online (4chan is a too easy one, as was old R*ddit) and offline that were always holding eugenic views on the disabled, they just found an acceptable way to do this in a real world setting by targeting a more trendy group to hate first. A Trojan horse of bigotry if you will, though they probably see it as a 2 for 1 hatred special. One reason imo the antivax movement took off so strongly in the US, aside from low scientific literacy, is how this country has a horrific and long history of eugenics and mistreatment of various groups that is still seen as socially acceptable or even moral.

Now, if the chaos was handled to be of use to feds or other agencies I'd think so, they've been feeding the chuds' heads with trash for ages and this is just the terror chickens coming to roost. Now if said chickens get a little out of control, more funding for them to make them into dinners and the rest of the flock can be observed for potential use or left to their own devices.

The danger is always the chud chickens pulling a chickens in copters sort move, but the fascist uprising version, afterall the US inspired the world with its bigotry in the foundations of fascism for blackshirts and such, there's only so much it can be co-opted but the bourgeois love dangerous games for the sake of their economic system.
