I don’t recognize any of the other characters besides Bridget and Link, but I thought it was funny.

Ferris shouldn't be in that collection Ferris is absolutely not a femboy, 100% a trans character. There isn't even room for them to debate it.

Nooo you're good! It's a very common mistake even among the left. Ferris is the rezero character in blue in the back right. It's fine otherwise and not a dealbreaker for the meme. Honestly I think it's impossible to not make mistakes with so many characters involved and the nuances of all their stories.

Religious conservatives when "woke liberals" make them being attracted to their waifu less gay, which is exactly what they want:

Shimakaze isn't a femboy, she's either a CIS female or some sort of artificial weapon depending on which theory of canon you believe in.

    I mean... er... fucking weebs.

I know right?! You were totally just having a BMF moment talking about the Japanese imperial Navy :japan-cool:

No other way that could be taken.

Clearly just another way of arguing that Japanese naval doctrine suffered from internal contradictions that held it back regarding destroyer design until the overall design philosophy resolved the contradiction with the best wai- coughs warship shimakaze

Akshuallllsajdflksjdfiosajdf according to my tissue box shimakaze is shown in this meme because pornograph artisans more often than not depict shimakaze as a crossdressing cis man. Why? Because the thought of a submissive and breedable man wearing such a skimpy outfit is a big turn on for a variety of reasons including the dialectical subversion and reinforcement of patriarchal gender norms. Therefore, although this isn't canon, shimakaze is a femboy in everyone's hearts and minds, you uncultured phillistine.

I know i'm taking the "waaahh representation!!!" losers too seriously but it's frustrating just how stupid the terms these people understand gender in are. like there's a word for when cis people play with gender in an openly performative way! you're doing drag! you didn't invent this! the context, aesthetics and signifiers might different from "traditional" drag or even cross-dressing, but it's fundamentally the same sort of practice. it's not other queers who are trying to stop you, homie! and guess what? the character you're performing as doesn't have to be the same gender as you! in fact that's kind of a major part of it! you, as a man, can dress as a woman, and relate deeply to her, and still be a man when you wanna be! you lose literally nothing from this! goddamn!

that’s because (hot take incoming): many roseboys are actually under the trans umbrella.

I’m basing this off of convos with a number of roseboys who are exasperated with the amount of transphobia in “femboy” spaces.

Roseboys are very much still men-aligned (especially if that’s how they identify), but it is sooooo much closer to demiboy than not.

Again, that’s a hella contentious issue in that space for obvious reasons, but yah

clearly i'm not as dialed into these conversations as i thought because "roseboy" is a new term to me. the first search result is some very angry Urban Dictionary definitions and it kind of looks like a lot of the same mode of discourse i've seen on tumblr for the past 6 years where young queers rip each other to shreds over perceived slights or betrayals against such and such subgroup like they're balkan nationalists.

I just wish we could all chill and get our priorities straight. also i wish i could call myself a removed on this site, but baby steps.

I've only played Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Breath of the Wild but as far as I can tell, Link is gender non-conforming to the extent that it helps save Hyrule from Ganon and protects the Princess Zelda.

Also, they don't even LIKE femboys. Aren't they supposed to be "a sin against DA LAWD JAY-BUS!" and relentlessly bully anyone who isn't in the top echelon of manliness like them?

What's the deal with Bridget? I recently found out the wiki uses she/her pronouns, so I gather there's been some kind of update to how she identifies (is identified?), but I have no idea when that happened. I just started playing Strive after a long time away from the series.

Also, as a Bridget main, I would very much like a revenge arc for her tragic backstory.

In japanese media it is very rare for a character to identify as trans, despite it being pretty common for male-identifying characters to present as girls. Basically the dev is saying "trans people are real", which is of course controversial with all the worst types of people.
