Here’s hoping Cincinnati can have a teeny tiny w as a treat
Obviously all parking spots need to be eradicated, but this is Ohio we’re talking about :yea:
Ill out myself a little and say im from Cincy and yea it's pretty bad. Youll walk a block and the only thing youre next to is cars. The public transit is such shit too. To go a few miles always takes 40 fucking minutes and a transfer. They need 3 times the buses, but then it would look like a functioning city. The streetcar is popular as fuck ever since they made it free like it fuckin should be.
There are zero public transit projects. The best thing going right now is they are trying to expand paths for bicycles and pedestrians. i want to go back in time and smack the fuck out of city planners who said "fuck you" to any pedestrian who wanted to get somewhere somewhat fast.
Trains are probably possible somewhere in Cincy/Northern Kentucky, but the area is hilly which probably makes it tough.
until the 50's Cincy had a streetcar system that served 100 million passengers a year. i used to live there and my god would i have loved to ride in a functional streetcar system. the connector's better than nothing but it only serves the gentrified areas where rich people work and eat.
Former mayor Cranley needs to go fuck himself rotten in the deepest pit of hell for purposefully blocking any expansion of the streetcar to uptown. Democrats are pieces of shit, but that fuckbag was a closet Republican even worse than most Dems already are. im so glad he didnt win the governor primary. I voted against him more than for anybody, like usual.
I live in NJ and the wasted potential of cities like Cincy kill me. There's tons more room and the streets are SO WIDE compared to what we have here, it would be easy to put a kickass tram or light rail system in and eliminate a ton of traffic.
we definitely have some areas where there is a grass/concrete median in the middle of the road where a streetcar was, and then they ripped them all out in like the 1950s.
I still contend that Cincinnati is part of northern Kentucky and not ohio
Cincinnati is a transport mechanism spanning the selectively permeable outer layer of the Great Lakes/Chicago amoeba .
it was once an organism in its own right, but was cannibalized by The Ten-Thousand Mouthed Shikaakwa, in its glorious and terrible feeding after the Civil War.
People try and claim NKY is part of Cincinnati but nah, it's the other way around
Absolutely, it's a weird little Catholic enclave that has more in common with Minnesota and Wisconsin than Columbus and Akron
