This region of Colorado has some of the worst roads I've driven on. There are massive temperature differences even daily, the soil is really poor with lots of decaying rock above it, and we alternate between droughts and flash floods/heavy snowpacks. We also have a libertarian law called TABOR that makes it impossible to raise state-level taxes. Anything they pave in that area goes to shit within a few years without enough infrastructure to maintain it.
Those cracks don't even seem that bad. Jealous of their roads if those are what they complain about.
