Hi I'm a chemist, my current work is with PFAS compounds, often known as forever chemicals. Please ask me about those, or anything else you are curious about related to chemistry. I will try to give you a solid response.

How close to making bricks of carbon are we? I don't care so much about graphene. That's rad or whatever. I just want to be able to pull bricks of carbon down and use it like wood or plastic for small home crafts.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. A brick of carbon would either be a diamond or compressed soot.

Cause we got carbon fiber which is mostly plastic they turn into soot glued together right? But there there is like graphite they make air bushings out of yeah? I just want to be able to harvest carbon from stuff and make small things of it. I get this is an irrational fetishisation of an element.
You remember a while back a startup got and probably wasted funding to collect carbon from the air and make bricks out of it? Anything like that. Just instead of waiting for plants to collect carbon and make stuff out of them, just spit in the eye of god and collect it ourselves.
