Salem Chop Suey Sandwiches, A Sign of Summer No More
Chop suey sandwiches have marked the beginning of summer for generations of people who grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Vendors once sold the beloved cheap treat throughout New England and as far south as Coney Island in New York.
They’ve been sold at the Salem Willows seaside park since the early 1900s. And now the last restaurant that sells them, Salem Lowe has closed its doors.
Rant: What is it with sites not having a time stamp for their articles?
i assume there's a bottom bun in there? if you need to eat your sandwich with a fork you've kinda lost the point of making a sandwich
Yes, if it hasn't dissolved yet.
I prefer not to think about what's under the bun.
