*With the Democratic Party hopelessly incapable of doing anything to address our many crises, the far-right has managed to brand itself as subversive using oligarch funding for anti-woke and pseudo-populist campaigns. The result is to send more and more lost and alienated people down the reactionary rabbit hole. * *How do we understand and navigate our way through this dystopian political scene? That's a good interview Rania and BTN are really good. Especially like at the end and his thought of the current political subject being a consumer brand that is reified into an identity through one's choice of media consumption. This is in place of actual political action as that realm is foreclosed in contemporary America. The foreclosure of the political opens the culture war because it is the only arena that can be contested. His conclusion that we can only imagine punishing a political enemy (much like Conan the barbarian we long for the lamentation of our enemies lol) and the right stands to gain in this moment because they're so clear about who are the 'enemy '.
