    I agree, except that they need funding from somewhere. A modern web browser is pretty much the most complicated piece of software there is, and there's no way Firefox could compete without full time developers. Other big open source projects like Linux and GCC get free labor from big tech companies, but Mozilla directly competes with the big companies so they don't get so much help.

    It's also true that Mozilla is a super wasteful organization, and the higher level employees get absurd salaries, but still good developers are expensive.
